Privacy
What we collect. What we don't.
Recul is an editorial publication, not a platform. There are no accounts, no comments, no newsletters, no e-commerce. The short version: aggregate analytics from Google, and nothing else.
What this page covers
This policy applies to recul.ai — the website you're on right now — and to recul.ai's published presence on Instagram (@recul.ai), Facebook, Threads, and LinkedIn. It does not apply to those platforms themselves; their own privacy policies govern what they collect about you when you use them. Links to those policies are in the third-party section.
What recul.ai collects on this website
Aggregate, anonymized traffic data via Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-PENJHCJQH5). That includes things like which articles get read, roughly where in the world readers are, what device they're on, and which referrer sent them. It does not include names, email addresses, or anything that identifies you personally to us.
We do not run remarketing pixels, conversion trackers, ad networks, heatmaps, session replays, A/B testing tools, or third-party comment widgets. There is no login. There is no form. There is no newsletter signup. There is nothing to sign up for.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets first-party cookies on this domain to deduplicate page views and measure rough session length. We don't set any cookies ourselves beyond that. If you'd rather Google Analytics not load at all, add ?notrack to any recul.ai URL once — we set a localStorage flag on your browser and the analytics script never loads again on this device.
What we collect when we publish to social platforms
When recul.ai posts to Instagram, Facebook, Threads, or LinkedIn, we use OAuth tokens issued to us by those platforms. Those tokens authorize our editorial pipeline to publish content to recul.ai's own accounts and to read engagement metrics on our own posts. They do not let us read your private data, your messages, or your activity outside of public engagement with our posts.
Engagement data we see on our published posts (like counts, comment counts, share counts, follower counts in aggregate) is owned by the platform and shown to us in their admin dashboards. We do not export it. We do not match it to other identifiers. We do not use it for advertising.
Tokens and credentials
OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens for our social platforms are stored as encrypted environment variables inside our pipeline infrastructure. They are not committed to source control, not shared with third parties, and rotated on every refresh cycle. When a token is revoked by us or by the platform, it is deleted.

Children
Recul.ai's content is intended for general audiences interested in AI news and analysis. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13 — and given that we collect no personally identifying data from anyone, this is enforced by structure, not policy.
Your rights
Because we don't hold personally identifying data, there's nothing for us to delete on request — but the underlying Google Analytics data tied to your browser can be cleared by you directly. Clear your cookies on this site, or use Google's opt-out browser add-on, or set the ?notrack flag described above.
If you contact us by email, we keep the message and your reply until the conversation is resolved, then delete it. We do not add senders to a marketing list — there is no marketing list.
Changes to this policy
If we add a tool that changes what's collected — an email signup, a comment system, a different analytics provider — we update this page and bump the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes will also be noted on the homepage for the week following the change.
